Ocala Baptist Temple began in 1979 with Pastor William Hensley serving as it's first pastor until 1993. In November 1993 the church called Pastor David Chaffin who served until his faith became sight in July 2017. In November 2017 the church called Pastor Jeffrey Matherly who is serving currently.
The Bible says in III John 5, "Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;" This is the model ministry: to be faithful in following the Lord and helping brethren and strangers. This is the ministry God has given us. It is the ministry of encouragement. It is a ministry that brings us alongside people.
The Lord Jesus gave us the Great Commision, in Acts 1:8 we read, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Spreading the Gospel is not a part of what we do; it is what we do, and we are blessed to be servants of the Most High.
